Supervised Program
The Summer Teen Program in Salamanca is designed for 'juniors', between 13 and 16 years. It blends Spanish lessons in small classes with exciting activities and excursions while exploring a new culture and making new friends. There are 3 Levels available in the Summer Teen Program: elementary, intermediate, high intermediate.
The school is a pioneer in the teaching of foreign languages. It was founded in 1956, and is a family enterprise with a large, committed staff, including teachers, administration and management personnel.
The program includes 20 lessons per week in small groups with a maximum of 12 students per class. The program includes all textbooks, materials, visits to museums and monuments, cultural activities and sport activities, excursions and fieldtrips. The course also includes transfers from Madrid Barajas Airport to your accommodations and from your accommodations to Madrid Barajas Airport.
Students are taught using the "Total Immersion" methodology, which means only Spanish is spoken in the classroom. The curriculum is well balanced and covers grammar, vocabulary, and conversation. Students will also participate in role playing exercises which mimic real life situations to help them gain confidence in their ability to use the Spanish language, and to help them to understand the nuances of the language. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate at the end of the course.
All the teachers are college degree or college diploma holders. They make up a coordinated and enthusiastic team and many of have been with the school for many years. Each school's director or coordinator organizes the student groups by language level and supervises each student's progress.

Accommodations - Homestay with a Spanish Family
Accommodations for the Summer Teen Program are in carefully selected homestays. This adds a very important dynamic to the overall experience of the student by completing the the total immersion effect of the program. Host families will interact with the students in Spanish giving them further practice in using the language.
Each student will share a room with another student attending the program. Homestays are available from the Sunday before the course starts until the Saturday after the last day of the course. Full board of 3 meals daily (bag lunch on excursion days) and laundry is included (1 machine load per week). All homestays are located near the school, generally about 10 to 20 minutes walking distance.

Salamanca, host to the largest University in Spain, is a students' city. Its famous Plaza Mayor is the center of the city, with its sidewalk cafes, bars, and restaurants. Salamanca is a small town and it can be crossed on foot from end to end. Monumental churches, unique buildings, streets oozing with history, Salamanca offers all of this and much more.
Salamanca's climate is continental. Very dry, with cold winters, some freezing nights, and bearably warm summers. Salamanca is part of Old Castile and is located within a short distance from Segovia, Avila, Burgos, Santiago de Compostela, Leon, and Madrid, of course, which is just 200 kilometers away.
