Teen Summer Program | Tarragona, Spain

Program Overview

For Ages: 13 - 17 years old
Absolute Beginner to Advanced Spanish
Supervised Program

The Teen Summer Program in Tarragona has been designed specifically for teen aged students looking to learn Spanish as a foreign language, while enjoying a beautiful coastal city. Students can expect quality teaching, as all of the teachers have been trained in dealing with teenagers, are native Spanish speakers, and have demonstrated an ability to effectively communicate with students in the class.

Students attending the program will study Spanish 15 hours per week from 10.00 to 13.30(1:30PM) in a small group environment. Each class has a maximum of 12 students. In the afternoons and evenings students participate in a full social program. The main objective of the program is to improve students communicative skills.

Classes are held in a two story building with a cafe and reception area on the first floor.  The reception area is available to students during lesson breaks to buy refreshments and meet with other students. The Center has a satellite TV and a computer room with free access to the Internet available for students.

About Tarragona

The Junior Summer Program takes place in Tarragona, a pleasant coastal resort city approximately 100 km south of Barcelona (86 km from the airport). Tarragona is a provincial capital and has a population of around 115,000. It is situated on the Costa Dorada and is an ideal location for a teen program of this kind.

The town is lively, but not too big. It has its own sandy beaches within walking distance of the school, it is very close to Port Aventura, one of Europe's largest theme parks and it is only an hour from Barcelona by bus or train.

The cuisine of Tarragona has a distinctive flavor, and primarily consists of seafood dishes blended with local agricultural products, such as  olive oil, hazelnuts, almonds, sweet peppers, onions, garlic, tomatoes, etc. Restaurants are plentiful in the city center, the fishing district of El Serrallo, and along the nearby seafronts.
