Program Information | Biarritz, France

General Program Information

The Teen Program in Biarritz are situated at the foot of the Pyrenees Mountains. The area around Biarritz is very beautiful, and the NRCSA Center is located just 10 minutes walking distance from the sea front, swimming beaches, and the town center. The Center itself is very modern and spacious. Each classroom is air conditioned and well light providing an ideal environment to sudy.

Students receive 15 French lessons per week, and each lesson is 45 minutes in duration. Lessons are held in the morning on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday is reserved for the weekly full day excursion. Groups are small, from 6 students minimum to 15 students maximum - and an average of 10 students per class. The lessons are a good balance between conversation, grammar, reading, listening and writing. Although this is an academic program, the emphasis is on the pleasure and benefits of learning the French language. Students return home positively motivated and eager to continue their studies. Often times this even helps to make the following academic year a more successful one.

Program Methodology

Teaching Materials
Much of the teaching material is specific to FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) teaching methods and the rest is produced by the school. Teachers are constantly reviewing course material and methods, and consequently finding new ideas for different programs. Students can either borrow or purchase the textbook you require in class. On the first day of arrival, you will pay a small deposit (which varies depending on the student's level), and at the end of the course you can either keep the textbook, or have the deposit refunded (unless the textbook has been damaged).

Method
The prime objective of the program is to develop the language using oral expression, thus enabling the student to rapidly communicate in everyday situations. The training follows the contents and progression of a strict formula, to which authentic material is added to help the student get a better understanding of the social and cultural aspects of the language. The instructional method is above all interactive and communicative. The program is carefully structured, but sufficiently flexible, to allow progress according to each student's level and learning pace.

Examinations/Certificates

All students receive a Certificate of Attendance indicating the level of French they have attained at the end of their program.
