Summer Teen Program | Salamanca, Spain


Program Details

The program includes 20 lessons per week in small groups with a maximum of 12 students per class, all textbooks and materials, visits to museums and monuments, cultural activities and sport activities, excursions and fieldtrips. The course also includes transfers from Madrid Barajas Airport to accommodations and from accommodations to Madrid Barajas Airport.

Students are taught using the "Total Immersion" methodology, which means only Spanish is spoken in the classroom. The curriculum is well balanced and covers grammar,  vocabulary, and conversation. Students will also participate in role playing exercises which mimic real life situations to help them gain confidence in their ability to use the Spanish language, and to help them to understand the nuances of the language. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate at the end of the course.

All the teachers are college degree or college diploma holders. They make up a coordinated and enthusiastic team and many of have been with the school for many years. Each school's director or coordinator organizes the student groups by language level and supervises each student's progress.

  • 3 Levels available: Elementary, Intermediate, High Intermediate.
  • 20 lessons per week in small groups, maximum of 12 students per class.
  • Accommodation in homestay, shared room, full board (3 meals daily), and laundry (1 machine per week).
  • Textbooks and material for the course.
  • Visits to the Museums and Monuments, cultural activities and sport activities (see below for examples).

  • Arrival and departure transfers from/to Madrid Airport.
  • NRCSA Emergency insurance (during dates in the foreign country)

Special Notes
  • You should book your arrival flight to the Madrid Airport to arrive before 18.00(6:00PM).
  • You should book your return flight from Madrid Airport to depart after 11.30AM in order to have enough time to travel from Salamanca.

Student Activities

In the afternoon students participate in organized activities. The activities vary from day to day and include: visits to museums and monuments, cultural activities, dancing lessons, bicycle rides, arts and crafts, swimming, games, and sports.

In the evenings
student “get togethers” are arranged and activities are often planned for the students. Evening activities vary, but often include social activities, tapas dinners, and visits to the local disco.

On Saturdays
full day excursion are planned allowing students to see more of Spain. The excursions  helps the students to better understand the Spanish culture, and allows them to use their Spanish in the “real world”.

Past excursions have included visits to:
  • Visits to the Ceramic Factory
  • Sierra de Francia
  • Cascadas de Candelario
  • Segovia
Sundays are generally spent with the student's host family.
